I simply do not know how to rate this game. Call it my hatred for France's lame football (They just never seem to score). To start off, I think the French team lacked a bit of creativity in the middle. Having Benzema and Nasri in the squad would have added some spark to their attack. Govou didnt seem threatening and missed a simple chance created by the French Genius Ribery. He was certainly trying his best to open up the Uruguayan defense. They were frustrated by the Uruguayan Defense so much that they decided to take long range shots which could have been passed on and converted into better chances. The Free kick by Gourcuff seemed to be going in when it was cleverly put away by Muslera.
For Uruguay, it didnt seem like to me that anyone but Diego Forlan wanted to score. Even he missed a simple chance which should have ended in the back of the net by his standards. Defensively they had put up a solid performance. But they need to work on their passing more.
Ribery and Forlan were the players who were working hard for the team and Forlan was elected Man of The Match at the end.
Hopefully we will get to see some exciting football tomorrow.
